On-Air Shows
Poncho Parker
Poncho in the Morning - Weekdays 6:00am - 11am
Poncho and I are about the same age - which means we share a hankering for ‘80s hair metal. You'll often catch us discussing the merits of long-forgotten groups like Kix, Cinderella, Krokus and Britny Fox.
Those songs you hear on the 5:00 Hair Appointment, well, that's where they come from. Unfortunately though, I no longer rock the cavemanesque rockstar hair a la Poncho. Genetics get in my way, but he's proud to tell you (and anyone within earshot) how he only washes that mop once every 3-4 days. Apparently it's healthier for that salad of his. I just think he's lazy.
Cassie
Poncho in the Morning - Weekdays 6:00am - 11am
Cassie is a small town girl living in a star-filled world. She is ROCK 105.3's Perez Hilton. She lives for Movies, Music and Pop-culture. Cassie is an incredibly genuine lady, what you hear on the air is what you get in person.
Layne Mitchell
Weekdays from 11am till 3pm
I grew up in a perfect neighborhood in Calgary, with a perfect family and perfect little life, where I played guitar in a handful of small-time local bands. After realizing that a bad hangover wasn't near enough angst to provide material for a successful music career, I decided to get into radio.
Trapper John
Weekdays from 3pm to 7pm
A world traveler, Trapper John loves ALL kinds of beers…Anything from Dutch to German to American.
An English teacher by day (editor’s note: actually, he taught English in Kaohsiung, Taiwan for a brief spell and wasn’t very good at it) and a rock music guru by night - Trapper John also loves sitting on his deck with a cigar in hand after his favorite hockey team The Boston Bruins win a game.
Ian Sharek
Wednesday - Friday Evenings from 7pm to Midnight, Weekends from Noon to 6pm
Who is Ian Sharek? I could give you the facts and say he is a man/child who is about 5’ 10” with a funny hair cut - or I could give you the fiction which isn’t entirely true but definitely more awesome!
Ian Sharek is loyal to the Eskimos because he used to play for the Eskimos. Sure, he never ran on the field but when the players were thirsty they had full cups of water thanks to team player Ian.
Stephen Ball
Evening from 7pm - Midnight
Don't be fooled by Steve's amount of body hair; he's as sharp as his neck is hairy. . . . and back, and shoulders, and kidneys for that matter.
Born in a log cabin just outside of Canmore, Steve has developed a sixth sense of color co-ordinating his work attire.
