If you like your rock a little on the trippy side, then chances are you’re anticipating the new album from Queens Of The Stone Age, ‘Like Clockwork’, due out June 4th. (less than a month away!)
Likewise, if you appreciate your videos but have a difficult time finding new episodes of Video Hits, here’s a spooky little number and the first video from the forthcoming QOTSA album.
If the new album from Volbeat – Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies – was on cassette, I’d have worn it out by now. It’s in the car, it’s at home, it’s at work and even gets a workout from the confines of my Gazebo.
Likewise, if this video for ‘The Hangman’s Body Count’ was on recorded onto Betamax, I’d be on the hunt for some SLP blank ‘beta tapes’.
If you’ve got the time, here’s an 11 minute mockumentary about the new Alice In Chains album, very much in the vein of Spinal Tap.
There are guest spots from the likes of Lars Ulrich, Mike McCready and others, including the members of AIC although you may have a tough time recognizing them.
AIC drummer Sean Kinney plays the hipster, lead singer William DuVall takes the form of a reggae musician while Jerry Cantrell does his best country musician impression.
Poncho, Trapper & I were lucky enough to attend Canadian Music Week in Toronto last week.
Our first night there we stopped at an all you can eat sushi restaurant….and it was delicious!

Here we are hanging out with Jonas after the Jonas & the Massive Attraction show at the Underground

After Sesame Street and Joy of Painting, Live From the Artist’s Den is one of the better programs on PBS.
Here’s a snippet of an upcoming Artist’s Den Episode, featuring music from one of the grunge pioneers, Soundgarden.
Great week for Volbeat fans.
2 weeks and 2 days until the boys come to town and this Friday, approximately 50 more tickets will be released to the general public, effective 10 AM and you’ll be able to grab those at MHStampede.com (March 15th, 2013).
And the week leading up to the show, Mar 25th -28th, (gig happens Friday, March 29th), Cassie and I will have free tickets to hand out.
If that’s not enough, here’s their brand new video and the first single from their forthcoming album, ‘Outlaw Gentleman & Shady Ladies’, entitled ‘Cape Of Our Hero’.

Jimi Hendrix’s new posthumous album, ‘People, Hell & Angels’ is released today to the world. 12 previously unheard tracks and here at Rock 105.3, Trapper John is handing out copies all week long.
I also had the opportunity to speak with the producer of this new effort, John McDermott. We discuss Jimi’s influences and Jimi working with some big names (long before it became popular in today’s music culture) aside from other Hendrix related topics.

Jimmy Kimmel is my favorite late night host and Duck Dynasty is my favorite new TV show and wouldn’t you know it if the guys from DD were on Kimmel last night and I missed it.
Just in case you did too, here’s an entertaining summary of how things went down last night.

Your local Medicine Hat Firefighters spent the weekend camping out at Fire Station #1–all part of their 3rd Annual Rooftop Campout for Muscular Dystrophy. The local campout helped create awareness and support of Muscular Dystrophy—with a grand total of $12,062.36 raised over the weekend. The money raised will help provide services and equipment to families dealing with Muscular Dystrophy while funding research to find a cure.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi and donate! Here’s a pic of Poncho hanging out over the weekend
