Cassie

5:30-10:00 am Monday - Friday

Charming, free-spirited and – above all – talented, Cassie has come a long way since her big-screen breakout in Steven Spielberg’s beloved sci-fi blockbuster, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial. Despite a troubled and much-publicized adolescence during which she appeared in only a handful of films, Cassie’s star was officially on the rise during the mid-90s with notable appearances in Poison Ivy , Bad Girls and Wes Craven’s Scream . Turns in The Wedding Singer, Charlie’s Angels , and Donnie Darko followed, proving to once-cynical audiences that Cassie was not only a capable leading lady, but also a gifted and versatile actor. Since early 2009, Cassie has also appeared in print and television advertisements for Cover Girl cosmetics products. Cassie married art consultant Will Kopelman, the son of former Chanel CEO Arie Kopelman,  in June.
Alright, so this really isn’t Cassie’s bio–it’s Drew Barrymore’s. To find out more about Cassie check her out weekdays from 5:30-11am on Poncho in the Morning.

Hadfield’s Coming Home

Posted on by cassie.lischka

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield will begin his trip back to Earth today after spending 5 months at the International Space Station. It’s his third return to earth from a space mission, but this landing will be a lot rougher than the first two. When he glided to earth in 1995 and 2001, it was aboard Atlantis and Endeavour — two of the now-retired U-S space shuttles. Tonight Hadfield will be making a much harder landing aboard a cramped Russian Soyuz spacecraft. He says the landing will be with what he calls “definite force”

Hadfield took the time to make this video before his departure–a cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” aka the “Major Tom” song. The song was mixed with the help of staff at the Canadian Space Agency and features lyrics that were modified to refer to the Soyuz capsule that will return Hadfield to Earth.

Hadfield is looking forward to several things as he returns home–including the smell and taste of real food, especially coffee. Since arriving at the station last December, Hadfield has been feeding himself from plastic pouches.
