Neil Young has announced a new album called Earth that will incorporate animal sounds into live performances. “We made a live record and every creature on the planet seemed to show up,“ Young wrote on Facebook yesterday about the 11-track project, which drops on June 17. “Suddenly all the living things of Earth were in the audience going crazy. Then they took over the stage, letting their wild sounds mingle…Earth’s creatures let loose. There were bee breakdowns, bird breakdowns and yes, even Wall Street breakdowns.“ Has Neil been sampling nature’s finest herb?
With AC/DC heading across the pond for some tour dates, British ticket services are offering refunds to those who don’t want to see Axl Rose perform in the stead of Brian Johnson who was forced to stop touring or face total hearing loss.
And more news is coming forward that before Axl secured his gig with AC/DC over the course of his two auditions, other auditions included former Skid Row front-man Sebastian Bach and Nic Cester of the Australian band Jet.
So far, fan reaction to Rose replacing Johnson — even temporarily — has been largely negative but here’s what Axl thinks of the tour so far.

Twin Peaks creator David Lynch has included Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder in the cast of Showtime’s upcoming revival of the cult series. Vedder’s not the only rocker among the massive cast of 217 that was unveiled yesterday, as Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails will also appear. Along with most of the original cast, A-listers like Naomi Watts, Michael Cera, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Monica Bellucci, Laura Dern, Tim Roth, and Ashley Judd also have roles in the revival, which will premiere sometime in 2017.
